It looks like finding one of the ways to lead a healthy lifestyle is easier than you might expect. One of the most important beauty tips you can come across is simply to get more sleep.

Yup, your skin will thank you for getting enough shut-eye each night. We all know days after late nights when we look in the mirror and are faced with puffy and saggy eyes. The body uses sleep time to regenerate – and that includes the skin.

I was at a major hospital recently as the sun set and was amazed to see lots of maintenance workers coming out and repairing all those jobs that were reported to them during the day. Your skin is the same: as you sleep, the body’s priorities turn to growth and repairs. If you have drunk enough water, the skin will be moisturised from within. The damage caused during the day by pollution will be repaired.

Studies have compared photographs of people who have had enough sleep and those that hadn’t and every time the pictures of the good sleepers were seen as more attractive.

Of course, sleep won’t solve everything but a nice night of Z’s will give you a major start the next day. And you will feel good too.

There are a great many ways to lead a healthy lifestyle and there are plenty of healthy skin tipsavailable but one of the most neglected ideas is to be happy and laugh.

Laughter does wonders for your general health and well-being. This in turn keeps you healthy and looking good.

We all know that we feel good after a period of laughter. This is because stress and laughter cannot exist together. Laugh and stress disappears. Also laughing produces endorphins that boost the immune system and can even reduce pain.

Laugh out loud and you will increase the blood flow and give your lungs a much-needed session of deep breathing. This in turn is good for the heart and other essential bodily functions. Your skin may show laughter lines but the general health of your complexion will improve.

Having a good guffaw has more wide-ranging effects too. Relationships will be stronger and more relaxed if you learn to laugh together also you will put minor setbacks into perspective. People are drawn to someone with a good sense of humour.

Encourage humour in your life. There are classes in Laughter Yoga available in many areas where you are taught to have a good chuckle and encourage the benefits. Watch a funny film and generate banter with family and friends and you will find life gets much better.

Sunless Tan Lotions: Tanning Injections

With the summer starting to make people think about their tan and so turning to sunless tan lotions, a worrying twist has been reported in the Republic of Ireland.

The Herald.ie website has repeated a warning from the Irish Health and Safety Executive and the Irish Medicines Board about self-injected fake tan injections available online.

Unlike mainstream sunless tan lotions, this injection, sold under the name ‘Melatonan,’ has not been authorised for use in Ireland and indeed there are some reports of nausea, leg pains and fatigue experienced by users of the product. While there have been no official reports of problems, both bodies have issued warnings.

The injection claims to help tanning by increasing the level of the melanin pigment in the skin, as well as suppress appetite and increase libido. It is clearly a wonder product. Or is it?

As with all injections, there is a constant danger of infection and introducing a product not properly tested and approved is risky at best.

Here at BeRavishing.com we would be suspicious of any product that claims to achieve all the things this injection does. We suggest there is no instant way to get that perfect tan – even sunless tan lotions need preparation and correct use to get the best effect.
